Non-drug, non-surgical treatment of pain and a variety of other conditions.
Acupuncture is a broad form of medical care that involves the expert placement of very fine, FDA-approved, sterile needles to stimulate specific points and centers in the body while the patient relaxes completely for the entire session — typically 20-30 minutes.
Does it work?
In February 2017, the American College of Physicians released evidence-based recommendations for treating acute or subacute low back pain with a variety of therapies including acupuncture. In our multidisciplinary approach to patient care, we are proud to offer acupuncture to our patients seeking relief from a variety of pains and headaches.
Our acupuncturist, Dr. Mark Mashia, DC, MS, works with patients to understand their goals, and develops a treatment plan that meets each individual patient’s needs. With 20 years in clinical practice, Dr. Mashia is among the most experienced practitioners in the region.
